ABOUT ME
The last 10 years of my automotive career I spent a lot of time coaching and mentoring the engineers we hired right out of college after The Great Recession. It really was incredibly rewarding, and it became my favorite part of my job. When it came time for me to retire, I decided I wanted to mentor and coach engineers as my primary work.
WHAT I DO:
I act as a Mentor and Coach to engineers that are looking to advance their careers, whether it is advancing in your current role or finding a new position.
WHY ME:
I spent 30 years as an Engineer and Engineering Manager in the Automotive Industry, with broad vehicle systems knowledge at all phases of the design cycle. As a manager of Global Teams, I recognize the importance of both technical and non-technical skills for a successful engineering career.

WHY IT WORKS:
So many times in the engineering world, people are promoted for their technical skills and they end up not being successful from a people management perspective. People who work with me have the opportunity to discuss, review, and learn how to deal with different situations they encounter in the workplace.
One of the biggest struggles that engineers tell me about regarding their careers is that their boss is too busy with their own work, or not interested in helping people advance. People who have me as their mentor/coach have my focus totally on YOU, and what is right for YOU, not on anything else.
Many engineers I’ve talked to in their job search have a difficult time identifying what they really want to do, how to articulate their skills, and how to plot out their ideal career. People who work with me are able to refine their vision, articulate their accomplishments in a way that will be appealing to a hiring manager. They will also be able to create a career path vision and identify steps and close gaps in their road to success!

Volunteer at Michigan Medicine as a Peer Mentor for caregivers of loved ones considering a Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAD) or a Heart Transplant.
